Collection: Lampshade Layout Frames

One of the most striking traditional uses of stained glass is as a lampshade. Tiffany is almost synonymous with stained glass lamps. But you don’t need to be a master stained glass artist, and you don’t need a lot of special tools or hardware, to make amazing lamp shades on your own - with the new Glassola Tools stained glass lampshade frames!

These unique frame sets enable you to make lampshades with four, six, or eight sides. With three sizes available - 6” high by 8” wide, 8” high by 10” wide, and 10” high by 12” wide - you can select your size, pin the frames to your board, and build the sides of your lampshade so that they’ll fit together perfectly.

Then you can just solder the edges together, and solder standard lamp hardware on the top (like these lamp caps from Stained Glass Stuff). Your new lampshade will then be ready to add to any standard lamp!

We also have layout frames for the Studio Pro lamp kit, available from many stained glass retailers (including Delphi, D&L Art Glass, and Ed Hoy).

How To Use Layout Frames

Whether you’re making a one-off piece, making many copies of a best-seller, or trying out a unique seasonal panel, these layout frames ensure the shape stays absolutely perfect.

To use the layout frame, simply pin it to your workboard over your pattern, and fill the pieces in as you go. From cutting to grinding to foiling, to soldering, your suncatcher will maintain its perfect shape. The water and heat-resistant frames will stand up to many uses.
